I will point to Gael's post about the new snarg.net membership site, as she's covered almost everything I would say. I've been playing with it for the past hour or so, and have become completely immersed. I think it's simply exquisite, and I'm not saying that because I'm biased, but because I truly believe it. There's very few "net art" sites that capture my attention for very long, entropy8zuper being one of the only other ones. I am constantly blown away by the amount of creative talent, along with other amazing qualities, that my parents have.

it's funny...
It's funny but I have to admit that snarg is about the only site of its type that I actually revisit. I was thinking about it on the plane and decided that it wasn't anything to do with any emotional bond caused by, at first, our relationship and latterly by my relationship with your dad.

There is something about snarg that I find a lot more appealing than the other sites that would be put into a group with it on something like Yahoo. Not that I have a clue what that something is, of course, but even the first time I looked at it there was an immediacy to it that drew me in that I find lacking in a lot of sites.

Anyway, I'll have to get a look at the new one, from what I've heard about it up to now I'm sure I'm going to like it :)

I know what you mean. For me I think a lot of it has to do with a lack of pretentiousness. Also not trying to be too cool or hard-edged. There's so many sites like
dform1.net and dhky.com that they've begun to lose my interest. I like them in their own way, but I find I don't spend a lot of time there. Probably no more than 5 minutes.
I think the organic interlaced with technology element is what appeals to me about Snarg, I haven't seen it a lot elsewhere.. also it's just plain fun and was made for that purpose.

Well that's more for Macromedia to fix. Unless they decide to allow development of a Flash 5 plugin then it'll be never working on linux. Anyway, should work fine on the Solaris box I have access to ;)

That's such a shame this version can't be viewed in Linux! Hopefully Macromedia will get their butts in gear.

I'm glad you like it too, I dig on the "automatic" mode.. just let it do it's own thing. I'd have it going all the time if it weren't so cpu intensive for me, but I'm getting an upgrade at the end of the month, so.. yah, automatic mode will = good. :)
