Thank you again for your thoughtful comments to my last post. Replying to them automatically un-screens them, but if you wish for your comment to be re-screened for any reason let me know and I will. The post may go friends-only later, but I will leave it public for now so family can read them.

We leave for America tomorrow morning. I will be staying for a month, mostly in Eastern Washington to spend time with my grandparents as they're becoming more frail. I was initially hesitant to spend the extra time, but after losing his last remaining grandparent Macsen has insisted I should, and he's right.

It's been 10 months since our last trip to America and I'm phenomenally excited to see everyone again. I hope you all have a lovely autumn.

Yay for travel... and for grandparent time.

I have a personal interest in you making it over to the Sound area, but understand entirely if you don't (email me at hal(dot)obrien(at)gmail.com if you do).

Pics are lovely, as always. Maybe a wallpaper or two for me... :)

i hope you two have as lovely a time as possible on your trip.

these photos definitely make excellent wallpaper - perhaps you could post 1280x1024 versions for those of us who don't have these new fangled widescreen thingummies when you get back?

I'll be visiting Spokane during this same time. I've also been away from the Inland Empire for a long while.

If you would be interested in breaking bread, and such an event was mutually convenient, let me know.

No worries if you're not inclined to such a thing.

Hope no news from you is good news, and that you had a great time visiting friends and family back in the States.

[I've commmented on your LJ anonymously before, but have finally got an account myself, not that's been used a lot yet.]

That's a Godawful story. Stunning how deplorable health care can be. I remember my own father had a stroke at 83 and lay on a gurney waiting for a bed for 6 hours in a corridor. Neglected, comatose, sinking... Pax.
