That's an amazing picture!! It's cool, too, that Jupiter is in it as well.

Re: ..
Thanks for pointing out Jupiter, I wasn't sure if it was. :)

Re: ..
I could be wrong, but it seems to be bright like Jupiter, and Jupiter would be in the same line as the moon's path. That's about how the moon and Jupiter looked a few days ago.

Neato.
It looks as though the moon is tethered to the ground.

Wow you're right, it does look like it's tethered.

Whoa! What an amazing shot!

Hey - Next time the skies clear around here, we should go out onto the deck and identify some constellations. :)

Sure!

Is it my imagination or did you tell me a week or so ago that someone was going to let us borrow their telescope?

Did I dream that?

It's not your imagination; a customer at work said we could borrow one of his telescopes any time we wanted. We just need to ask and he'll drop it by. :)

p.s. I *love* your new icon! Makes me think of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" for some reason. Speaking of icons, I reckon it's time to update mine...

It is one of my favorite sites, I once spent several hours going through their entire archive.
Maybe I like it a little too much (I'm a sucker for nebulas).

Gawd, I love Seattle. I thank my lucky stars many times
a week that I had the good sense to move here. This is
a beautiful photograph. I was thinking, too, how the moon appeared to be leashed with big orange buoys to the
skyline...

It is a lovely city. I've grown up in and around it and I've always liked viewing it
from afar (driving into Seattle on I-5 or going to/from it on the Bainbridge ferry).

I especially like the view from I5 coming from the south
just as you pass over the big rise, right as all the
downtown exits start appearing. It's one of the best views of the skyline.
