I'm 27 today! :)
Saturday was our 5th wedding anniversary (and a total of 9 years together!) A few years ago when we stayed in Rheims in the champagne region we picked up a hand-painted bottle of vintage Perrier Jouët Belle Epoque for a "special occasion". Of course any occasion becomes special when you open a bottle like that, but we restrained ourselves and saved it for this day. Perrier Jouët is not usually my champagne of choice, but this one was delicious and floral, perfect for a warm summer afternoon picnic. We didn't get as wasted as we did with my friend Nate on a similar picnic for our 1 year anniversary (it is hard to believe it's been that long already.) After this past winter and retrospection I've come to the conclusion that one of the most important aspects of maintaining a long-term relationship is a sense of humour; we still make each other laugh, even through the hardest of times. I think we've done well. :)
smoked venison, prosciutto, saucisson, goat's cheese stuffed peppers, bocconcini salad with sun dried tomatoes, basil, and pine nuts, sun dried tomato stuffed olives, kalamata olives, smoked salmon, gorgonzola dolce, strawberries, harissa, cornichons, fleur de sel, mustard, olive tapenade, roast peppers, and baguette.
petit basque, murcia al vino (soaked in red wine), soignon chèvre, comté, manchego, and quince jelly.
strawberries with gelée de rose and fruit tartlet

Why I love Richmond Park.. when you're in the centre it is quiet and peaceful, you have no idea that you are surrounded by over 8 million people.
Happy Birthday, Naomi!! And happy 5 (actually 9!) years to you and Max...
Lovely photos... You're looking smashing, as usual. I'm so glad to see someone actually making use of one of those hand-painted bottles of vintage PJ since I have always secretly coveted them. :)) Hopefully you'll use the bottle for dried roses or something!
And I seriously cannot believe the drunken picnic anniversary post was already 4 years ago!! Time flies!!!
Thank you! :)
I've never attempted to get that close, I have visions of being gored by antlers. :) I have seen people get pretty close though, one guy was right in there among the stags with his camera practically to their faces and they didn't seem phased.
