garçons sur la tranche

it was this girl's birthday so naturally she dressed up as a fairy and handed out macaroons
to boys who would give her a kiss.

she flies away

Vietnamese delicatessen

bad French pun: Booyabass. not as bad as Celtic influenced band seen earlier called Derry Eire.

monkfish wrapped in parma ham on pommes de terre boulangère (layered potatoes and onions slow cooked in stock)
with chorizo butter and a parmesan crisp.
I would have licked the plate if not in public, as it was I managed to clean it pretty well with bread.

bouillabaisse... tarte tatin aux pommes and pistachio ice cream

duck terrine with pistachios, tomatoes stuffed with pork and herbs

Jackie and Philip

grilled mackerel with homemade mayonnaise... local Vendée fish, I can't recall the name but it has similar taste and texture to sea bass.

razor clams baked in herb bread crumbs

pears poached in ginger with passionfruit, apple, and pear sorbets.. Les Crapons wine, tastes better than it sounds.

Your photos are wonderful. I love that first one. Also, I suspect you may be interested in this: Don't Magazine. It's not entirely intuitive navigation; but I'm sure you'll find your way around it quite easily.

Thank you, for your compliment and for the link. I've been going through it and I think for a site like that intuitive navigation isn't as necessary and can make the exploration and discovery even more enjoyable. :)

Bouillabaisse is love. Even the emperors of decades past would learn HTML to have a figment of the dream pictured above.

Gorgeous post, Sweetie! Always lovely to take a vicarious trip through your poetic photos.

Sorry I've not been on Gtalk the past couple days. I've been exhausted (fighting something off?) and barely making my work deadlines. I'll look for you on Monday! :)

haha - abandon all hopes of dieting when reading my journal!

I know, I love razor clams but they're hardly eaten in Britain.. the French are happy about that though, more for them. :)

thanks for the comment, Barrie. :)
