Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes on Friday. They cheered me up immensely and made me feel less lonely for being 5,000 miles away from home. :)
Max and I went to Belgo Noord in Camden for dinner. There was a long wait so we boozed up in the Bierodrome for about an hour. I had the usual; lobster bisque and mussels. Dessert was luscious dark Belgian chocolate ice cream. It took me awhile to recover from my sugar coma.
Saturday we took a two hour bus trip (way cheaper than the train) down to Southampton to visit Max's parents once more before I leave this Sunday. It was pouring rain the entire bus ride back to London, but I enjoyed it.
I have no idea how well known he is yet, but my current musical obsession is Sebastien Tellier. He's been touring with Air and is the first signee on their record label. There's a definite Air-ish feeling to his music.
Those are fantastic photographs! I could smell the air justin looking at them.
Happy birthday belatedly. I did not receive a LJ notice to let me know it was your special day. I hope you had a fantastic day, and that you wished for stars in the end of the night.
A starchild herself,
I love the rain.
Now this is odd.
I was listening to Air and driving thru the rain last night.
I listened to Sebastian just now as per your suggestion... and yum.
There's just something so comforting and warm about the sound. I wish I could place what it's called. It's that old analog fuzzy action. Air of course has it too.
He's got a fun sense of style, too. Oui!
Like I said in a comment above, I prefer rainy England days to sunny ones. Rain suits England. But then I love rainy days back home at times as well. It's overcast monotony that depresses me. :)
I'm glad you like Tellier, I find it very calming and laid back. Also my fiance won me over originally in part by sending me an Air cd amongst others, so that sound has good memories attatched to it for me.
